About The Undeclared

The Undeclared aims to celebrate the wide fields of journalism, media, and writing. The practitioners in these fields often do not come from a singular background or skillset. Instead, journalists and writers are often polymaths and knowledgeable across subjects.

Hence the name: The Undeclared.

Harking back to undergraduate university studies, undeclared majors often take classes across subject areas. Journalists and writers are required to, and relish being, the undeclared majors of the professional media world.

Even those in beats, or who specialize in certain subject areas, find themselves having to learn new information in the arts, history, science, or politics to adequately convey information to their readers.

To properly bring that information to the masses, a combination of skills and resources is needed.

At The Undeclared the skills and people who use them will be highlighted. The practice of telling a story will be observed and scrutinized, to help everyone tell a better story.

Because everyone has a story to tell.
